Merchant is a casual Osteria, a place that allows for all kinds of dining experiences. The menu focuses heavily on Venetian cuisine and tradition. Merchant is home to Australia’s only polenta machine, a machine that churns polenta all day and pours it to the plate ‘on tap’. The drinks also lean strongly to the north east of Italy with wines from regions such as Alto Adige and Veneto. Of course Valpolicella is prominent here as well as the classic Bellini and Aperol Spritz. Merchant’s cichetti or ‘small bites’ run through out the day and so does the coffee machine.
